Part of accepting things is not thinking about them anymore. Don’t obsess. Don’t hold on. Just let it be. Let the moment pass. Know that you are impermanent, and keep breathing.

If there’s something you can’t stop thinking about, that’s because you haven’t looked it in the eye yet.

What is there to say about sadness? [How you feel is not who you are.]

It is with us. It never leaves.

It is a bad houseguest, but I try to show it a good time.


You mustn’t let your sadness define you.

Commentary: In the last few years, I’ve learned how to deal with sadness, so this is partly advice to myself but also to anyone else who finds it useful.
