Twitter Poetry: Preening for the Void

Preening for the Void

Beauty doesn’t just happen.
It has learned the songs
Of all the wetland birds.

Woke up to pot and laundry
A swollen eye and a limp;
Pretty sure I’m suffering
From a shortage of hugs.

Phone sex still exists,
But the form is obsolete.

I don’t think the Dalai Lama really said that.

Poem for my sister on the birth of her daughter
actually, you're already awesome
